I want to send a very special Happy Birthday greeting to one of my greatest friends, Kim! Kim and I have become really close friends since I moved to Kingsburg. Thankfully she only lives about 5 minutes from me and my hubby and I enjoy being with her and her hubby Brian. We have so much fun when we are all together! But anyway...

Kim, you are such an awesome friend and make my day at work go by so much faster since I am able to chat online with you all day. (Yes people, I said all day, we have the best jobs ever!)

- WCC -

West Coast Conference has come and gone again. I can't believe it. Nate and I always enjoy conferences, but to have one only 20 minutes away is incredible! No sleeping in hotel beds, hearing the crazy kids down stairs till 3:00 in the morning, and my uttermost favorite...living out of a suitcase.




WCC was awesome this year, Bro. White preached an incredible message Friday night titled "The Uganda Plan for Apostolics". It was an awesome conference and we are so thankful to be able to enjoy it each year.





I want to send a "shout out" to Matt & Chantelle White. Thanks guys for hanging out with us and coming by on Saturday to see our new home. We always have a great time with you and are looking forward to being in Burbank hopefully soon to spend the weekend!

- Grandpa's 80th -

A few weeks ago my parents hosted an 80th birthday party for my Grandpa Shockley. Nate and I spent Friday night with my parents and helped get things together for the party. I was up late that night baking the cake and preparing the icing for the next day.

On Saturday we were up early getting last minute things together. Mom cooked an awesome meal and dad prepared chicken and steak. Ah, the food was so good!

Soon some friends and family arrived and all were seated with plates full of food and enjoying each others company.

It is always nice to get the extended family together. Especially when you don't get to see them often enough.



My nephews and cousins were running all over the place, swinging on swings, and feeding mom's dog Max until he was sick. I wish I had that much energy every day!



One of my grandpa's birthday gifts was Lady. She is an adorable Malti-poo and I fell in love with her. I guess grandpa had had his eye on the newspaper recently trying to find one. I told Nate that I want a dog just like her. Hopefully in the near future we can start looking for one. First we have to finish working on the house and getting the backyard in order.







We had a fun weekend and it was so nice to be able to celebrate my grandpa's 80th, the fact that he is still in great health, and that he still is plinking away on his guitar in church!

By the way, I am going to be an aunt again. YAY!! Poor Amy has been so sick, hopefully that is a sign that it is a girl?!?!?

- October 2009 -

October is an exciting time for our church. It is "Pastor Appreciation Month" and also our harvest festival, and a time when the weather cools down and it becomes Fall. I love this time of the year!



To help celebrate Pastor Appreciation our church split into 4 different teams with several families in each team and for almost every service in the month of October we have put on skits, said some kind words, and have honored our pastor. Our team went first. Nate and John were the chefs who couldn't keep their hands out of the chocolate cake and who were serenading the wrong table with "This is the Night". It was hilarious, it always is when John and Nate are involved. It comes naturally to them to be in front of people and have fun!

We are so thankful for such an awesome man of God in our lives!
Pastor Weidner, you are incredible, and your church loves and appreciates you so very much!!! Thanks for being such a strong man of God!!

- Enjoying our New Home -

Our 4 month escrow process finally closed on September 17th. We have been so busy this past month trying to get situated in our new home and I haven't had much time to blog. I hopefully will be able to update soon.

We have been blessed with an incredible home and in the perfect time to buy! God has been so good to us and we are so thankful! We wake up and just can't believe this huge home is actually ours. And we don't have to look at plain white walls anymore. Well, maybe that's just me, I doubt Nate cares what colors the walls are. lol But I am thankful to paint any wall that I want and not worry about the landlord not liking the color.

I promise to post photos. Our kitchen tile should be in this weekend and I have a little more decorating to do before I actually want to post, but I will soon!
